Why we send people here
Muelle Viejo sits directly on Alcalá’s old pier, so you eat a few metres from the water the fish came out of. It’s recognised by the Repsol Guide, and it has one of the best sunset views in Tenerife. Unpretentious, authentic, and beloved by both local families and visiting connoisseurs.
What to order
Vieja a la espalda
The local parrotfish grilled split-open with garlic and virgin olive oil — the fish most Canarians will tell you to try first.
Cherne a la plancha
Wreckfish: firm, pristine white and meaty, served with papas arrugadas and red/green mojo.
Volcanic white wines
Canarian listán blanco wines grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil from the nearby Ycoden-Daute-Isora denomination.
